Colin, Health and Physical Education Specialist, has a BS in Health & Physical Education as well as a minor in coaching from Marywood University. Since graduating, he has worked with various schools and private companies as a 1-on-1 specialist for children with special needs. This is his seventh year working within the Montessori philosophy, and he truly appreciates the concept and cultures the school and community put forth. His focus is to guide the children with activities that foster the learning of a healthy lifestyle and the appreciation for physical fitness and good sportsmanship.
Evelyn, Spanish Specialist for Lower School Campus
Felix is fluent in Spanish and was born and raised in the Dominican Republic through 5th grade. He is currently working on his Master’s Degree and has an undergraduate degree in Recreation Administration. He also worked at the North Bergen Recreation Center supervising camp procedures and coaching a multitude of sports. He has a passion for the Montessori method of education and believes in the importance of speaking multiple languages. Mr Felix is very excited for the opportunity to teach Spanish to the Middle School students.
Hassan, Technology Specialist, is currently pursuing his BS in Early Childhood Education at NJCU. He was first introduced to the Montessori philosophy when his mother began working at a Montessori school more than a decade ago. Hassan is also bilingual, having been taught Spanish by his mother while growing up. His brother and sister were Montessori educated, and he’s proud of the individuals they’ve become. He understands Montessori’s role in their development and how it has enriched their lives. Hassan first joined HPMS as an assistant in Green Room. In addition to being the Upper School Campus Technology Specialist, Hassan also leads the Elementary After School program at HPMS.
Kyoung eun, Art Specialist, has a MFA in Fine Arts from Parsons The New School for Design in New York, as well as a BFA and MFA in Painting from Hong-ik University in Seoul, South Korea. She is both an art educator and an artist. For the last 10 years she has taught art in Korea and USA. She recently worked as an artist faculty member at Abrons Art Center in New York and taught special art projects at the High School of Art and Design, Success Academy Harlem West, and P.S.2 in New York. She also taught at The Manhattan International High School as a visiting artist. She has had numerous art exhibitions in the USA, China, Australia and Korea. She has received awards and fellowships from BRIC, the NARS Foundation, the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture, and the New York Foundation for the Arts.
Robert, Music Specialist
Solange, Kindergarten & Elementary Spanish Specialist, has a BA in Education as well as a M.Ed in Early Childhood Education from the Women’s University of Sacred Heart in Lima, Peru. She has worked with children for 28 years and for the last 13 years she has worked as a Spanish teacher in a Montessori setting. Solange lives in Ridgefield Park with her husband and two daughters, who are both attending college.
