Colin, Director of Athletics, has been teaching at HPMS since 2013. He is a New Jersey native, growing up in Cranford and currently residing in West Orange. He holds a B.S. in Health & Physical Education as well as a minor in coaching from Marywood University. He eats, sleeps and breathes all things athletics, and is an avid golfer. From professional, to collegiate, to high school and even his nieces and nephews pee wee games, you usually can find him cheering teams of all kinds on. His focus is and always has been to guide children with activities that foster a learning of a healthy lifestyle and an appreciation for physical fitness and good sportsmanship.

Hassan, Director of Technology & Upper School Aftercare Coordinator, has been a dedicated member of the Hamilton Park Montessori community for 14 years. He holds a B.S. in Business Management from New Jersey City University. Over the years, he has shared his expertise by teaching both Spanish and Technology. He now serves as the school’s Director of Technology and Upper Campus AfterCare Coordinator. Hassan is passionate about fostering a supportive and innovative learning environment for students and staff alike.
 

Katy, Literacy Specialist, has been an educator for seven years. She is delighted to begin her 4th year as the HPMS Literacy Specialist. In this role, she works with all kindergarteners in small group settings and provides extra literacy support for Upper Campus programs. She has a PhD in education from the University of Michigan, a M.A. as a Literacy Specialist from Teachers College, and a B.A. in Modern Language from Knox College. She has both Lower and Upper Elementary teaching certifications through the American Montessori Society. Before beginning this role at HPMS, Katy had ten years of experience supporting literacy and cross-curricular integration in K-8 schools, including four years as a lead teacher in a Montessori elementary classroom.

Kyoung eun, Art Specialist, has been an educator for 14 years. She received her MFA in Fine Arts from Parsons School of Design in New York. She previously earned a BFA and MFA in painting from Hong-ik University in Seoul, South Korea. She is currently working as an artist in NYC and she is passionate about educating students of all ages on various art topics. She has taught art for the past 14 years in both Korea and the USA. Her previous faculty positions included Abrons Art Center in New York, the High School of Art and design, Success Academy Harlem West and P.S.2 in New York. She also taught at the Manhattan International High School as a visiting artist. Currently, she serves as a part-time faculty member at Parsons School of Design. She has presented her work at numerous art exhibitions in the USA, China, Australia and Korea. She has also received various residences and fellowships from the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture, Smack Mellon, ISCP, the Bemis Center for Contemporary Arts and the New York Foundation for the Arts, to name a few.

Robert, Music Specialist, has been an educator for 35 years. He holds a B.M. in Piano Performance. He is a versatile composer and music educator who fuses classical, avant-garde jazz, neo/soul, and gospel music into a voice all his own. He has also done arrangements and session work for Disney, ESPN; March Madness, and his string quartet arrangement of the classic hymn “Holy Holy Holy” has been performed by the Chamber Ensemble of the Virginia Symphony. He has also recorded and performed with some of the finest artists in Gospel music, including Grammy Award winning artists Rev. James Cleveland, Hezekiah Walker, along with Rev. Timothy Wright, Dorothy Norwood, The Harlem Gospel Singers and many more. He is a respected educator and clinician, having taught general music in the Newark NJ public school system, and is presently the Director Of Music at the Hamilton Park Montessori School. He also maintains an active private instruction schedule.
