The Middle School at Hamilton Park Montessori School is developed in accord with Montessori’s views on adolescents and learning. From within the structure of a warm community, the students are supported and encouraged to reach out, intellectually, emotionally, and physically, to the wider world and also to reach deeper into themselves. The curriculum includes a STEM component integrating science, technology, and mathematics, as well as a humanities strand that establishes links between history, current events, literature, critical reading and writing. The curriculum includes regular trips, often planned by the students, to do research and gather information. A serious priority is preparing our students with a firm intellectual and social-emotional foundation and the requisite leadership skills for success in high school and beyond. Advisory and community meetings occur every day to support students in these pursuits. Both student and parents are guided and supported throughout the High School admissions process.
